Torque Wrenches

Handheld torque wrenches are used to precisely tighten fasteners to a specific torque value. They are designed to help prevent both under-tightening and over-tightening, but are reliant on the operator's attention and correct usage.

Torque wrenches are often used as a secondary check, meaning the fastener is installed with a torque control tool, then double checked with a torque wrench.

Click-Type Torque Wrenches: Audibly click when the preset torque is reached, preventing over-tightening.

Digital Torque Wrenches: Display real-time torque values on an LCD screen and often store data for quality control purposes. They also often have an audible alarm or visual alarm when torque is reached.

Cam-Over and Break-Over Torque Wrenches: Prevent over-tightening by slipping or breaking at a pivot point once the desired torque is reached.
